W.R. Scott Curtis, MD, FACOG

Dr. W.R. Scott Curtis has served the women of Hampton, providing excellent ob/gyn care for the past 30 years. In 1980, he joined the practice of Drs. Inloes, Gayle, Sarrett, and Zimmerman, which eventually became known as Obstetrics and Gynecology Associates of Hampton.  During his years of service to the community, he has delivered countless babies, their children, and even a few grandchildren! After retiring from obstetrics in 2008, he has been focusing on gynecologic care of women throughout the lifespan. Currently, he offers a complete range of services in office gynecology and gynecologic surgery.  Areas of special interest include preserving the natural beauty of patients through facial aesthetic services.  Sadly, he will be retiring at the end of December 2011.

Dr. Curtis is originally from Danville, Virginia. After completing his undergraduate degree at The Citidel, he attended medical school at the University of Virginia where he received his medical degree in 1972.  He then served as a physician in the United States Navy, stationed at U.S. Naval Regional Medical Center, in Jacksonville, Florida, where he completed a Family Practice Internship, and then at National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, where he completed Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency.  Following his residency, he served as Assistant Chief of OB/GYN Services at the U.S. Naval Aerospace and Regional Medical Center in Pensacola, Florida.  During his time here in Hampton in private practice, he has served as Member of the Board at Eastern Virginia Medical School. Additionally, he has served as Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and as Medical Staff President at Sentara Careplex Hospital (formerly Sentara Hampton General Hospital) where he has served on active staff since 1980.

Dr. Curtis is married to Linda D. Curtis, Hampton's Commonwealth Attorney, and they have three children and seven grandchildren. In his free time, Dr. and Mrs. Curtis enjoy snow skiing, reading, cooking, and traveling to visit the grandchildren.
