At Obstetrics & Gynecology Associates of Hampton, we offer a wide range of advanced in-office procedures and treatments designed to provide convenient, efficient, and patient-centered care. Many gynecologic evaluations and treatments can be safely performed within our office suite using minimally invasive techniques and comfort-focused options, helping many patients avoid additional facility visits, prolonged recovery times, and unnecessary hospital-based procedures when appropriate.
Our providers utilize modern technology and evidence-based treatment options to diagnose and treat many women’s health concerns in a familiar, supportive environment. We are proud to offer comfort-focused care options, including nitrous oxide and in-office sedation for select procedures and visits.
Many in-office procedures can be completed in less than an hour, and some patients are able to return to many normal activities the same day depending on the procedure performed.
Procedure availability may vary based on medical history, procedure type, provider recommendation, and individual patient needs.
Many women are surprised to learn that a variety of gynecologic procedures can now be performed safely and comfortably in an office setting.
Benefits of in-office procedures may include:
We understand many women may have had difficult, uncomfortable, or anxiety-provoking gynecologic experiences in the past, and our team is committed to creating a more supportive and patient-centered experience.
Comfort and pain management options are individualized based on the procedure, medical history, and patient preferences whenever appropriate.
Nitrous oxide may be available during select in-office procedures, exams, and gynecologic visits to help reduce anxiety and improve comfort. Some patients choose nitrous oxide even during routine examinations or Pap smears if they experience anxiety, discomfort, or difficulty tolerating exams. Nitrous oxide works quickly, wears off rapidly, and allows many patients to return to normal activities shortly after their visit.
For select procedures, additional in-office sedation and anesthesia options may be available through our anesthesia partners based on the patient’s needs, medical history, and procedure type.
Depending on the procedure, comfort-focused options may include local anesthetic, cervical block, nitrous oxide, IV sedation, and anesthesia services administered and monitored by trained anesthesia professionals.
Our providers will discuss available options during your consultation and help determine the safest and most appropriate approach for your care.
Additional Diagnostic & Treatment Services
Our AIUM-accredited ultrasound services are performed by ARDMS-registered sonographers and assist in the diagnosis and management of many gynecologic conditions.
Many in-office procedures require little preparation and can often be completed during a routine office visit or scheduled procedure appointment.
Depending on the procedure performed, some patients are able to return to work or many normal activities the same day with minimal downtime.
